-20 Offhand for 55... Where from?
I have searched, no luck. I did read a while back, that you can get it from Presearing. Can anyone tell me where I can get it form? Thanks.
Oh, I need it just in case I die. :P

The quest is 'Poor tenant'
It is given by Namar in ascalon city pre-sear, and is the one where you have to lure some bees away from miller upton to get the reward from him.

Don't use the presearing one, it doesn't have max energy, so theres no point in really using it. You can find max ones in post pretty easily, I have one with req12 healing if you can't find any others.
The ones I use are -20hp with 10% global fast-recharge, req8 and req10 (2 identical ones, one for each monk :P )

This presear one gives +12 energy if you have less then 33% health for a total of +15 energy.
Edit: Which isn't to say its the best -20 offhand possible for him, but it is a easy one to grab with a new char, and quite decent.

I've found a -20 offhand from a Frost Dryder in northen shiverpeaks. So, for me, -20hp focus are mostly given by necro monsters.

It seems to be a fairly random mod. The -20 health tends to be a drawback of a unconditional bonus to armor on the focus from what i've seen.

That's 100% correct. It's similar to a weapon will drop with + damage always and -5 energy, except in this case all you really want is the 'drawback'. There are also focus items with +armor^50 and other conditions, just like damage mods.

Super monks use two diferent off hand items mainly in case they do die so they can still continue.
The -20 health off hand item can be obtained in presearing when you do futher adventures which is the first questyou get when u get your first spells.

you don't need a -20 offhand for a 55er.
if you soul happen to dye. Just remove the
-50 offhand and you health will be at 33.
which is perfect. After you kill 3-6 creatures.
Your health will be back to almost 55 again
once you reequip the -50 offhand.

Agreed. And with a -20 health offhand you're at 13 once you die. It's true, this only lasts through one decent sized group of bad-guys, but if you're paired with a N/Mo with Vengeance and Res you can keep that ultra low health for quite some time.
Note: The following contains knowledge common to most existing 55 monks, feel free to skip
Protective Spirit limits damage dealt to you to a maximum of 10% of your total health. Damage values are whole numbers, rounded down for simplicity. Therefore if your health is anywhere between 10 and 19 you will only take 1dmg per hit from any source. This damage can easily be mitigated using Mending alone (unless you are suffering from health degen effects such as bleeding/burning/etc.) and makes the solo monk's job much easier.
/common knowledge
If you are soloing anywhere outside of UW you can equip the -20 offhand, walk into a group of mobs and die. You will be at 13 health when you res at the nearest shrine.

No Shit.
But what I'm saying you don't need the -20 offhand. When using a 55er.
Well I don't cause after I kill about 3-6 creatures. My health is back again.
Plus I only use a 55 build when I'm soloing.
